Ariana Kramer was raised in Taos, New Mexico where she developed an appreciation for the diverse cultures, wildlife and landscapes of her community. She attended public schools from grades K-12 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Biology from Reed College, a small liberal arts school in Portland, Oregon. Later, she received a master's degree in Leadership in Ecology, Culture & Learning (now Leadership for Sustainability Education) from Portland State University's School of Education. After living in the rainy Northwest for 15 years, she returned to her sun-drenched hometown. Ariana now lives in Taos where she works as a freelance writer and with SOMOS (Society of the Muse of the Southwest). Her newspaper writing and poetry have been recognized for excellence by the National Federation of Press Women.
